About Me

A builder who thinks
in systems.

I'm Benjamin Umeh, a Product Manager with a BSc in Computer Science. That background means I understand the systems behind the products I manage, not just the surface.

I've worked on four products: Outbound AI, FitCall.me, DEPATH, and AdaptPulse. My work covers PRDs, pricing, design coordination, and working across teams to get things shipped. My work on Outbound AI was commended by senior mentors, and FitCall.me is currently in build with me leading the product. I founded DEPATH, a Nigeria-first route safety platform, where I owned the product strategy and AI workflow design, and caught a data-fabrication risk during a codebase audit before any user saw it. I'm also building AdaptPulse, a product that helps users build transferrable skills.

I hold 8 certifications in product management and AI, including Aha!'s Product Management Professional Certificate and Microsoft's Azure AI Essentials Professional Certificate. I communicate clearly with engineering, design, and business teams, adapt fast, and ship.

01
DEPATH Founder & Product Manager Pre-launch MVP
Founder and Product Manager for DEPATH, a Nigeria-first route safety platform — a pre-travel decision layer that checks a route before you open your navigation app, not after. Owned product strategy, product discovery, UX design, verification architecture, AI workflow design, branding, and technical direction. Set the rule that no incident reaches the public map without a media cross-reference, and scoped go-to-market around seven named transport corridors instead of a national launch. Ran a full codebase audit on the build and caught a data-fabrication risk in the route analyzer before a single user saw it.

03
Outbound AI Product Requirements Document
Authored and maintained the PRD for Outbound AI, ensuring it reflected all product changes and stakeholder decisions throughout the development cycle. The document served as the single source of truth for the engineering and design teams.

04
Outbound AI Pricing Strategy & Plan
Designed a comprehensive pricing strategy for Outbound AI, covering market positioning, competitor benchmarking, and user tier segmentation. The plan provided a clear monetisation roadmap aligned with the product's growth stage and target audience.

05
AdaptPulse Founder & Product Lead Design Stage
Founder and Product Lead for AdaptPulse, a simulation-based adaptability training concept built as a diagnostic simulation rather than edtech. Locked the product vocabulary as Case, Reading, and Debrief, and narrowed V1 scope to a single simulation and one persona, with no numeric scoring and no employer-facing features. Designed the full brand identity, the Fault Line mark, an Ink, Parchment, Brass, Signal, and Alert palette, and a type system pairing Newsreader italic with IBM Plex Sans and IBM Plex Mono, and wrote the build prompt for Google AI Studio.

Outbound AI Design Supervision
Supervised and coordinated the Outbound AI design process on Figma, working alongside the design team to review screens, ensure design-product alignment, and maintain consistency with the product vision throughout the build.

07
FitCall.me Product Manager In Build
Served as Product Manager for FitCall.me a virtual fitness platform connecting US and UK clients with vetted Nigerian personal trainers via scheduled one-on-one video sessions. The platform addresses the accountability gap in fitness consistency while creating international income opportunities for Nigerian trainers. Authored the full PRD (v0.1), milestone documentation across 6 phased build cycles, and versioning records. Played a pivotal role in solidifying product direction including scoping MVP features, defining what was in and out of scope, and guiding critical trade-off decisions during key moments in the build phase.

MenuCard Product Requirements Document
Contributed to the Product Requirements Document for MenuCard, a digital menu application, helping shape product direction from problem definition and target audience through to competitor analysis and functional requirements. Worked through the full PRD structure objectives, scope, value proposition, user personas, and technical requirements to give the build a clear, well-reasoned foundation.

Learnings

Key lessons from
real projects.

01 DESIGN ACCURACY
Alignment is a product decision
No matter how polished a design looks, poor alignment creates friction in development. Now I review every design with a builder's eye making sure what looks good can also be built properly.
02 PRODUCT UNDERSTANDING
Know the product before you manage it
Shallow product knowledge produces shallow tickets and weak decisions. I make it a point to understand every product I manage thoroughly from how it's built to how users move through it before making calls.
03 RESEARCH OVER SHORTCUTS
The best insights come from within
AI tools can assist, but genuine product intuition comes from real research and deep product understanding. I've learned to go deeper before reaching for shortcuts the results are always stronger.
04 CONFIDENCE & CLARITY
Confidence accelerates delivery
Approaching tasks with confidence rather than hesitation produces better work, faster and earns more trust from teams and stakeholders. Being clear when you speak is just as important as being clear in how you think.
Let's build
something
great.
